Isehara is located near the center of Kanagawa Prefecture, about 60 minutes by train from Shinjuku. When traveling by car, the Isehara-Oyama Interchange on the Shin-Tomei Expressway is 40 minutes from Tokyo. Mount Oyama, which symbolizes the city, rises high in the northwest, and the city offers history, culture, and an abundance of nature. The masses have devotedly placed their faith in Mount Oyama as a holy mountain since the Edo period, and stories about pilgrimages to Mount Oyama have been certified as a heritage of Japan.
