Showa Village is widely known as the ‘most beautiful village in Japan’, it sits at the northwestern foot of Mt. Akagi. The environment has allowed the village to become famous for production of sublime konjac and highland vegetables. In fact, one of the biggest attractions of the village remains its abundant produce appearing in restaurants offering locally produced green groceries and other delicacies. And the rich nature of the surrounding area allows visitors to enjoy special experiences all day long, such as a magnificent view of the Joshinetsu mountains, ayu fishing in the Katashina River, and hot springs.
